Mare Care

Your mare, of any breed, is welcome to be foaled here.  She will have 24-7 "nurse/mid-wife" attendants seeing to her every need.  Our security cameras provide an extra set of eyes along with barn attendants.  Vet techs aid in the delivery and our on-site veterinarian (neighbor) are ready and able to provide your mare and foal the best opportunity for a safe delivery.

Lay ups

Thoroughbred, Standardbred, reiners, cutters, any performance horse may need a lay over, rehab, or winter stay.  We offer full facilities and services.

Whether you need full time annual board or simply a short or long term layover or if you wish to winter your horses near Ocala,  Mare Meadows is the place for you!  She will receive daily grooming and exercise, spacious 12' x 20' stalls, automatic fly spray system to keep her comfortable, blanketing and premium feed and hay!

Though most of our outside clientele own valuable thoroughbred racing bloodstock mares, we breed 90-100% foundation quarter horses from champion foundation cutting and reining stock.  Our breeding incorporates bloodlines including Cutter Bill, Doc Lynx, Docs Prescription, Hollywood Gold, Zippo Sunny Too,  Zippo Pine Bars, Peppy San Badger and Poco Bueno. Currently Standing: Lickety Zipped (Zippo Sunny Too, Poco, Skipper W bloodlines) AQHA Stallion.

Mare prep for outside stallion breeding.  Send your mare to us and we will provide nutritional requirements and conditioning to assist in her natural ovulation, provide vet care to regulate "hard-to-breed" mares and arrange for their transport to the stud facility of your choice.  Then, we bring her back here to foal her out for you!

Imprinting, Gentling and Ground Training

We specialize in ground manners, respect training and behavioral modification using kind and playful techniques.  The horses respond favorably with great respect for their handlers.  No fear, no intimidation!  Gentle and kind training techniques provide gentle and kind horses.  We simply allow a horse to think through the things that are frightening and learn to work through them!

Horse Management, Safe Handling and Western Riding Classes

We specialize in introducing horses to beginners.  Teaching horse safety, handling and nutrition.  We teach 2 new languages "horse" and "body" are the languages needed to communicate effectively with horses.  Private, one-on-one lessons provide superior results in half the time! Our retired western show horses provide safe and reliable mounts to learn on!
